Luminus is looking for a Legal Manager to support the energy transition, focusing on electrification and the expansion of its renewable fleet. In this role, you will offer legal support to our business departments conducting the purchase and sale of power generated by renewable assets of the Luminus Group, the optimization of our renewable and thermal assets and the development of energy services. You will report to the General Counsel and collaborate closely with other members of the legal department and business stakeholders.

 


Your Daily Job

 

  • Draft, negotiate and review contracts, such as contracts with grid operators,  corporate power purchasing agreements (CPPAs), transportation contracts, tolling agreements, construction contracts, and O&M agreements.

  • Help establish the correct contractual structures for new energy solutions considering Belgium's complex regulatory, political and societal environments.

  • Develop new contracts for new business or contractual challenges and create standard documents or contracts where needed.

  • Stay updated on relevant legislation, proactively inform/train the business and assist with implementation to ensure compliance.

  • Coordinate litigation and dispute management, including strategy, legal correspondence, negotiations, settlement agreements, and initiating legal action.
  • Develop good working relationships with all internal stakeholders, including senior management, to foster a true business partner relationship and facilitate transversal work on complex files.
  • Manage multiple external legal counsels on various files, including negotiating cost-effective fees with purchasing colleagues.
  • Provide clear, to-the-point advice for operational teams and management to help implement rapidly evolving legislation.

 

 

 


Your Profile

 

  • You have a Master’s degree in law.
  • You have at least five years of experience in commercial, energy or administrative law, either as a lawyer or in-house counsel. 
  • You have a keen interest in the energy sector and the energy transition.
  • You can easily analyse complex issues and explain them in understandable terms to your colleagues.
  • You enjoy communicating and working together with teams with different profiles.
  • You are able to work independently, structured and well organized.
  • You are fluent in English and either Dutch or French. You have a solid knowledge of the other national language.
