The Solution Architect is responsible for converting business requirements and solution architecture into a pragmatic, affordable, and future-proof solution design, adhering to architectural principles and security policies. They are able to quantify the designed solution into a feasible workload. He/She keeps in mind solutions that are future proof while not being overcomplicated. He/she can make the distinction between a prototype/poc and a final solution. The solution architect still has a hands on experience with development, certainly in a POC/investigation phase. When creating a solution architecture he/she looks into other domains for lessons learned and technologies used. He/she is able to determine which business request needs to be solved in which tool and technology with as much re-use as possible.

 

The IT Optimisation & Generation team drives the Optimisation & Generation (excl. OT) application development and maintenance (adhering to Agile principles and practices), ensuring operational excellence in Optimisation & Generation technology stack and driving its ongoing evolution. The team(s) support a wide variety of applications, both on prem as well as SaaS. The OptiGen technology stack is supporting the (Mid Term & Short Term) Optimisation teams to perform all wholesale market transactions, balancing services and hedging operations of Luminus. Furthermore they help connecting Luminus to the national grid operators.

 

 

Your daily job

 

Preparing PI Objectives

  • You collaborate closely with the Solution Designer to ensure the solution design adheres to the overall solution architecture. 
  • You support the Solution Architect and the Business Engagement Team during intake.
  • You are able to, within a SAF context work with the team within the PI commitments but also prepare the necessary epics and features for intake in the upcoming PI(s)
  • You provide estimations on work to be developed
  • You create the architectural vision for a solution and document it

Follow and support the development

  • You are accountable for creating, documenting, and communicating the solution architecture.
  • You follow up on the fit between the solution architecture and the functional analyses and designs
  • You guide the developers in terms of best practices and follow up on technical and security governance.
  • You ensure the solution design adheres to solution principles, IT & security policies, standards, guidelines, and best practices. 
  • You participate in project delivery and release train build activities as part of an Agile team. 
  • You test the Sync/lead integration and validate together with the analysts, external technical contacts and scrum master(s)
  • You participate in project delivery and release train build activities as part of an Agile team

Stay on top after delivery

  • You document the final setup including differences between design and implementation
  • You do a handover to the operational people where needed

 

 

Your profile

 

  • Ideally, you hold a master degree in exact sciences (preferably in IT) or have attained comparable level through relevant experience 
  • You have In-depth knowledge of the energy market in Belgium (as this is a key domain within the electrical sector). 
  • You have strong analytical & architectural skills, effective communication, and a collaborative spirit.
  • You have experience in .NET and AWS as technical stack (architectural and prototyping)
  • You have experience with UML to explain and visualize (data) flows
  • As part of the work scope is driven by external actors you have experience in both stakeholder management as well as in reading (legal) requirement documents.
  • You are fluent in English; Dutch and/or French is a plus
  • You are a strong teamplayer but can work autonomous
