As a Commercial Forecasting Analyst you take up a proactive role in steering value optimisation for our commercial activities by providing data-driven guidance and actionable insights to a wide variety of stakeholders.

Developing a deep understanding of the commercial forecasting methodology is key in order to build further on what’s currently in place.

You also support the development of the medium term plan driving the Retail strategy and helps to evaluate its performance.

 

 

Your Daily Job

 

  • You are responsible for the on time delivery of the Long Term Forecast of our Retail portfolio up to 3 years in the future, focusing on delivery points, volumes & commercial margins.
  • You acquire a thorough knowledge of the forecasting process/methodology. You propose business-oriented solutions and are able to transform them in workable code (Python).
  • You understand the business and market context in order to correctly assess new volume positions to be taken for fix price contracts.
  • You support the Commercial Forecasting Manager in the development of the medium term plan for Retail activities in accordance with the strategic objectives and in alignment with other teams and stakeholders
  • You evaluate the value creation of our commercial activities and provide data-driven insights to show on plan delivery.
  • You align internally with stakeholders from different departments (Optimisation, Risk, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Pricing, …) throughout the company.
  • You contribute to strategic and ad hoc analyses & projects.
  • You improve operational and financial performance by proactively developing and using data analyses.
  • You collaborate cross-team with the entire Pricing, Performance & Data Intelligence team.

 

 

Your profile

 

  • You have a Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline.
  • Having relevant experience in an analytical/data driven role within the energy sector is a plus
  • You have knowledge of BI systems (e.g. Qlik).
  • Having knowledge of Python, Gitlab and/or AWS is a plus
  • You have knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
  • You speak Dutch and/or French and have a good knowledge of English
  • You have strong organisational skills in order to provide on-time and consistent delivery
  • You pay attention to detail without losing track of the bigger picture
  • You have an can-do attitude and innovate mindset.
  • You are a team player with good communication skills
  • You are autonomous and can handle stressful situations
